Crowe, who’s video was shot in a million dollar location at his home in Los Angeles, insisted that he had done all he could in terms of propping up his beloved bunnies and that following the breakdown of is relationship with fellow backer Peter Holmes-Acourt, it just was not financially viable to continue backing the club.

Currently South Sydney full memberships stand at around five and a half thousand though Crowe insist a membership base of around fifteen thousand will be needed if the club is going to remain.

He insisted that he had done his bit and had been more than generous in his support for a team that he was openly passionate about and it was now time for the legions of fans to do theirs.

The club surprised everyone in 2007 by narrowly scraping into the finals series in the first year after Crowe and Holmes-Acourt had taken the wheel.

They fairy tale was shot lived after the clubs major signing, Craig Wing was crippled in the first forty minutes of the first game and missed the season.

The club went on to put in a dismal performance throughout the season and despite a late rally finished second last.
