Horse Racing - Dash - Saturday

The Skybet Dash at York on Saturday has the potential to be a bit of a pin-stickers race – in other words it’s wide open.

Only four points in the betting separate the top 10 horses in this race as we look forward to the cavalry charge over six furlongs.

Leading the market in this competitive race is Express Wish and Knot In Wood. First thing to say is that the latter, a Richard Fahey trained sprinter, is he is top weight in this race, which may hamper his progress. Putting that to one side for a moment he has won seven of his 39 starts include his last outing when he retained his Scottish Stewards Cup title. He has gone close to winning bigger races than this too and was a close third in the prestigious Stewards Cup during Glorious Goodwood last year. He is ideally suited to good to firm so connections will be hoping the rain stays away.

Express Wish is a lightly raced four-year-old who is yet to really test himself in this class of company. Still you can’t argue with two wins in six starts and was put in many a notebook as a future winner when second last time out. Will have a large weight advantage over his joint-favourite rival, which could make all the difference.

The other one to mention is Harrison George. He’s not been out of the top three this season in five outings but could do with the going on the softer side. Any rain and an each-way bet is advised.
