Horse Racing – Dash – Saturday

July 25, 2008 Author: Trix

The Skybet Dash at York on Saturday has the potential to be a bit of a pin-stickers race – in other words it’s wide open.

Only four points in the betting separate the top 10 horses in this race as we look forward to the cavalry charge over six furlongs.

Leading the market in this competitive race is Express Wish and Knot In Wood. First thing to say is that the latter, a Richard Fahey trained sprinter, is he is top weight in this race, which may hamper his progress. Putting that to one side for a moment he has won seven of his 39 starts include his last outing when he retained his Scottish Stewards Cup title. He has gone close to winning bigger races than this too and was a close third in the prestigious Stewards Cup during Glorious Goodwood last year. He is ideally suited to good to firm so connections will be hoping the rain stays away.

Express Wish is a lightly raced four-year-old who is yet to really test himself in this class of company. Still you can’t argue with two wins in six starts and was put in many a notebook as a future winner when second last time out. Will have a large weight advantage over his joint-favourite rival, which could make all the difference.

The other one to mention is Harrison George. He’s not been out of the top three this season in five outings but could do with the going on the softer side. Any rain and an each-way bet is advised.

Sports Transfer Merry Go Round

July 20, 2008 Author: Trix

With so many rumours sprouting up everywhere regarding who will be playing where next season, I would like to write about Transfers that are for real and not just off the rumour mill.

Christiano Ronaldo’s on off transfer to Real Madrid looks like being if it goes ahead the biggest transfer of all time with Real Madrid expecting to cough up 70 million for the current World’s best player.

You can Bet on races using paypal.

Sir Alex Ferguson on the other hand has rejected every offer Real Madrid have made and although Manchester United have been publicly been scrutinised by Fifa and the player (Ronaldo) himself they are determined to stand their ground and not sell their most prized asset.

Paypal betting is now easier than ever before.

Meanwhile at Chelsea there has been no shortage of action either, the arrival of Brazilian Scolari as the new manager has already seen the arrival of Portuguese midfielder to Stamford Bridge, and I know they have enquired about the possibility of signing Kaka from AC Milan also, Inter Milan have had a 8 million bid for Frank Lampard rejected with Chelsea saying he is not for sale but with them not offering Lampard a 5 year contract the player has been quoted as saying he wants to renew his friendship with Inter manager Mourinho.

Did you know that you can bet on this and many other international sports including  having a bet on melbourne cup!

Liverpool and Arsenal have been reasonably quiet so far except for a few Bosman deal arrivals at Anfield and Nasri joining Wenger at the Emirates for an estimated 15 million. So over the next few weeks especially if you love Football or Soccer will be very interesting to say the least.

Bewin.com

By there very nature these contests are very even and the John Smiths Cup at York this weekend promises to be the quintessential handicap contest with most horse in with a chance of winning. The paypal betting for the race is very tight but the favourite will probably be three-year-old listed winner Collection.

The Highclere owned colt has impressed in his last two runs with www.bewin.com the latter of which was a high class listed contest in which he showed all the attributes of a classy animal as he picked his way through the pack to win by just over a length.

Race watchers at bewin.com that day tipped him for bigger and better things in the future. He also has course and distance form when winning a handicap at York back in May and is carrying a good weight in the handicap. Aiden O’Brien’s Plan is also well fancied after a good fourth in his last outing.

Even though he didn’t win he ran an eye-catching enough race and stayed on well proving that stamina should be no problem for him. Like the favourite he is treated well in the weights.

The Hamdan Al Maktoum runner Mutajarred is being well backed after victory on the all weather at Great Leighs last time out. A reliable sort who is rarely out of the placings who could prove a shrewd investment.
